- Always burn your candle on a heat resistance surface and avoid placing your candle in a draught. (A draught can cause the flame to burn hotter, thus causing soot to appear)
- When first lighting your candle allow it to burn long enough so that the wax has melted all the way to the sides of the container, thereby avoiding tunnel burning.
- To extinguish your candle, gently push the wick into the melted wax with a cocktail pick, end of a match or similar to avoid wick smoking. Consider purchasing a wick dipper and wick trimmer. (An excellent addition to a candle gift)
- Clip wick before re-lighting your candle. Should the wick become bulbous, simply extinguish, clip and relight.
- Discontinue using your candle when approximately 1cm of wax remains in container. This does not apply to tealights.
- Keep your candle container away from bright sunlight.
- To reuse your candle container, simply wash out in hot soapy water, pop in a tealight or arrange a refill with Cool Candles.
- Enjoy your candle.
